What is Pronoun?


Pronoun adalah kata ganti orang yang memiliki 4 jenis yang berbeda nih, Sobat.

 

Berikut ini ada contoh penggunaannya.

  • I love her last movie in the theater.

Personal Pronoun

 

Personal Pronoun adalah kata ganti untuk orang, hewan, benda, atau hal secara spesifik. Bentuk kata ganti ini tergantung pada peran (subject, object, possessive), jumlah, orang ke-, dan gender dari noun yang digantikan.

Personal pronoun dibagi menjadi:

Pronoun as Subject

Pronoun as subject adalah pronoun yang memiliki posisi sebagai subjek (yang melakukan) dalam sebuah kalimat.

Contoh kalimat:
She prefers a brisk walk to jog.

Pronoun as Object

Pronoun as object adalah pronoun yang memiliki posisi sebagai objek (yang dikenai tindakan) dalam sebuah kalimat.

Contoh kalimat:
My mother calls me, so I must go home now

Possesive Pronoun

Possessive Pronoun adalah kata ganti yang berfungsi untuk menunjukkan kepemilikan. Possessive pronoun dibagi menjadi possessive pronoun dan possessive adjective.

Possessive Pronoun 

Possessive pronoun adalah kata ganti yang berfungsi sebagai pronoun, kata ganti yang menunjukkan kepunyaan dan berdiri sendiri (tidak diikuti oleh kata benda. Possessive pronoun digunakan ketika object of possession diketahui berdasarkan konteks. Biasanya ada bagian pendahulu atau antecedent, singular atau plural, yang berhubungan dengan object of possession tersebut.

Contoh :
The book on the table is mine.

Possessive Adjective 

Possessive adjective adalah kata ganti yang berfungsi sebagai adjective, kata ganti yang menunjukkan kepunyaan dan harus diikuti oleh kata benda.

Contoh:
It is my book.
