Nah, di bagian ini kita akan mempelajari tentang Recount Text!
Recount adalah jenis teks yang melaporkan peristiwa, kejadian, atau kegiatan yang menimpa seseorang, atau berupa pengalaman seseorang, contohnya bisa berupa diari ataupun biografi seseorang.
Tujuan dari penulisan recount dalah untuk menceritakan apa yang terjadi pada masa lampau sesuai dengan runtutan waktu terjadinya. Karena teks ini menceritakan masa lampau, sehingga tenses yang digunakan adalah past tense.
Terdapat beberapa jenis dari Recount Text:
- Personal Recount
- Factual Recount
- Imaginative Recount
- Historical Recount

Jadi Sobat Pintar, Personal Recount adalah teks yang berfungsi menyampaikan cerita dari pengalaman pribadi sang penulis. Kalian pernah kan nulis pengalaman pribadi kalian? Nah, Itulah yang dinamakan Personal Recount!

Simple Past Tense
Sobat Pintar, di bagian ini kita akan memahami lebih tentang tenses yang digunakan dalam menulis Personal Recount
Simple Past tense adalah suatu bentuk tense yang menggambarkan suatu kejadian yang terjadi pada satu spesifik waktu di masa lampau, kejadian yang berlangsung dalam suatu periode di masa lampau, dan kebiasaan atau aksi yang dilakukan berulang kali pada masa lampau.
Kata kerja yang digunakan pada kalimat positive di tense ini harus berupa kata kerja kedua (verb 2).
Kalimat Verbal
(+) the dog slept in the room yesterday (S+V2+O)
(-) the dog did not sleep in the room yesterday (S+did=not+V1+O)
(?) did the dog sleep in the room yesterday? (Did+S+V1+O+?)

Past Tense Continous
Sobat Pintar bisa tebak tenses apa? Yup benar!, Past Continuous Tense!
Past Continuous Tense adalah bentuk tenses yang digunakan untuk menyatakan kegiatan yang sedang berlangsung dimasa lampau. Past continuous tense merupakan bentuk lampau dari Present continuous tense. Tenses ini juga dapat digunakan untuk menunjukan sebuah aksi yang terjadi sebelum, selama, dan berlanjut setelah aksi lainnya yang terjadi di masa lampau.
Nah yang pertama kita bahas rumus yang digunakan dalam tenses ini
Contoh kalimat :
Kalimat Verbal
(+) she was climbing a mountain (S+was/were+V-ing+O)
(-) she was not climbing a mountain
(S+was/were+not+Ving+O)
(?) was she climbing a mountain ? (was/were+S+V-ing+O?)
Kalimat Nominal

Pada penggunaannya, Past Continuous tense memiliki beberapa fungsi yaitu:
1. Untuk menunjukan bahwa kejadian pertama (Past Continuous Tense) telah disela dengan kejadian yang lebih pendek (Simple Past Tense) dalam waktu yang bersamaan. Contohnya seperti ini Sobat:
- I was eating my dinner when my mom called
- While I was watching TV, someone knocked my door
2. Untuk menunjukan waktu yang lebih spesifik saat suatu kejadian di masa lampau dimulai atau diakhiri.
- I was having lunch at 11 am yesterday
- She was not making ramen at midnight
Pada kalimat Past Continuous Tense, kita pasti menemukan penggunaan when atau while sebagai kata pengubung dua kejadian. Kita menggunakan when saat diikuti dengan kata kerja Verb 2 dan while diikuti dengan kalimat Past Continuous Tense.

Sobat, dalam menuliskan sebuah Recount Text, kita harus memahami runtutan teksnya, berikut terdapat struktur Recount Text, yaitu:
Orientation
Di bagian ini berisi perkenalan awal tokoh/pelaku, tempat, dan waktu untuk memberikan informasi yang diperlukan pembaca untuk memahami keseluruhan isi teks.
Events
Menceritakan apa yang terjadi di masa lampau sesuai rangkaian kejadian/peristiwa. Biasa ditandai dengan penggunaan in the first day, next day, our last day.
Evaluation
Komentar dari si penulis/pembicara mengenai pengalaman yang dia rasakan.

Example of Personal Recount
On Saturday night, we went to the Town Hall. It was the last day of the year and a large crowd of people had gathered under the Town Hall clock. It would strike twelve in twenty minutes’ time. Fifteen minutes passed and then, at five to twelve, the clock stopped. The big minute hand did not move. We waited and waited, but nothing happened. Suddenly someone shouted,”It’s two minutes past twelve! The clock has stopped!”
I looked at my watch. It was true. The big clock refused to welcome the New Year. At that moment, everybody began to laugh and sing.
Example of Personal Recount
One of my favorite things in Junior High School was camping. Once upon a mount my school held a routine extracurricular that was camping at some mountain or camping field in my town. Usually the event was on the first Saturday night in a month.
One day at the camping time, we all gathered at the school first before we went together to the camping area. We were grouped in teams and each team had its own tent. We went to the camping area by bus. In the afternoon around 4 pm we had already been there. We built our own tent before we continued the activities. After building the tent, bathing, and having a break, we start the rundown of the activities. One thing I love most was the activity of Jerit Malam . It was held from 10 pm until 1 am in the morning. We all, every team, were scattered into the jungle to find the letters in a bottle. The camping committees had prepared something to frighten us by wearing ghost or zombie costumes and chased after us.
Anyway, I was never afraid of that but I was so happy seeing some of my friends screaming and running. I laughed loudly at that event because I think both the ghost and the victims were totally funny.
The ghost or the zombie never frightened us who were not afraid, but they would run after them who were too afraid.
