Expression of complimenting

Sobat pintar, dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, kita mungkin pernah memberikan atau menerima kata pujian (compliment).

Compliment seringkali kita ucapkan kepada seseorang jika kita menghargai orang tersebut atas keberhasilan atau pencapaian yang telah ia capai. Compliment berguna untuk memberi dorongan semangat bagi seseorang agar orang itu tetap berprestasi dan bahkan berusaha lebih baik dari itu.

Expression of complimenting adalah ekspresi yang digunakan untuk menunjukkan pujian kepada seseorang karena kita menyukai penampilan atau pekerjaannya.

What to be complimented

Notice something new about the person’s appearance: new car, new haircut, a piece of jewelry, etc
(memperhatikan sesuatu yang baru dari penampilan seseorang)
On a person of his or her general appearance: ‘You look good today’.
(memperhatikan penampilan seseorang)
When visiting someone’s house for the first time: ‘What a beautiful house you have.’
(memperhatikan rumah baru seseorang)
When hosts prepare a meal for you: ‘The meal was delicious’.
(memberi pujian ketika dihidangkan sesuatu oleh orang lain)

How to compliment in formal or informal ways
